I noticed in the friending meme that Batgirl popped up in a few of the favourites lists, and rather than comment in everyone's lists ...

What does everyone think of the current incarnation of Batgirl?  I'm just getting back in and have followed the current Batgirl since issue #1 and am really loving it.  I love that who has taken the mantle and how it's handled.  I love Proxy, I love Barbara/Oracle mentoring them both.  I love it all.  It's cute, it's funny, it's great.

I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who's head over heels for it.  lol

The "squee" moment is a favorite of mine. *grins* I wasn't sure about Proxy at first, but I really like how she's turned a mentor-student dynamic into a bit more of a team dynamic. I mean, I like the mentoring, but variety is the spice of life. :-)

Yeah, the whole Oracle/Proxy mentoring thing is still there, but Batgirl/Proxy is really coalescing into a real team the more Oracle trusts Proxy and returns to her duties with the Birds of Prey.

You can see the "girls" becoming "women" and forming a team of their own. And it's only 14 issues in. It's still a subtle transformation though, but it's still there. If the writers keep it up, it's going to be a great title, and I can't wait to keep reading!

ETA: I actually LOL'd over the squee moment when I read it. haha I was reading it to my kids when read it the first time, and I had to stop to laugh.
