fardell24SpiderGirl entered the Historia via one of the side doors and went towards the apartments to change to ordinary Quinn there. ‘I may need a base here, like at home.’
Danielson stopped on the roof of the Historia. SpiderGirl had vanished. ‘She must have seen me,’ he thought. ‘But that means that she knows the other vigilantes by sight and knew I wasn’t one of them.’ He looked around at the town before deciding to head down.
Quinn entered the café, although it was still another half hour before her shift started. She saw that Stacy was already there.
“Quinn? Are you OK?” Stacy asked as she came into the servery area.
“Oh, just thinking about last week.”
“You mean, what happened with Lynn Anders, or the robodactyl?”
“Both,” Quinn admitted, as a distraction from the near encounter she had just had.
Danielson entered the Historia through the main entrance. “This is the teen run theater I heard about,” he murmured. ‘She could be anywhere here, and could slip out while I am looking. So where first? Bookstore, theater or café?’ He went to the café first.
Elisabeth Rowe saw Quinn writing when she re-entered the office. “You don’t usually do homework here,” she said.
“True, but I’m pondering what has been happening in Lawndale.”
“What happened last night? WLND still isn’t saying much.”
“That’s part of it,” Quinn admitted.
“I know you go up on the roof often.”
“I look at the town and think.”
“There’s more, isn’t there?” Elizabeth said. “You have been taking a lot on, especially over the past month.”
“Not much,” Quinn said.
“You can tell me, if you want.”
Quinn thought about it. ‘Sorry, Mrs. Rowe, I don’t want to take the risk of revealing that I’m SpiderGirl. I’ll talk to Brit later.’

40daysofdrabbles - so I created this community a few months ago in honor of the old request challenge thing I used to do (of various degrees of success). I am tempted to use the community in the style of adventdrabbles, 'cause it seems wasteful not do more with it. So I'll probably post "prompts" daily there for the period of Lent.Lent is starting February 18th, and again I'm not really religious (despite my family wishes), but I figured I could try this challenge again and see if I could exercise my writing abilities a bit more. I'm gonna try and get everything written & posted by Easter, or by end of April at the latest. *fingerscrossed*
You do not have to be a "friend" to request a pairing, but if you are unsure of a fandom/pairing I like - my list is located here (while not complete exactly, it's mostly is) or feel free to check out the tag list on
harpiewriting for ships I've already wrote for. I also technically have a list of Crossover pairings but that hasn't really been edited since 2012 so yeah... Also some of these fandoms are old and I have not recently watched them (or at times finished them). Request as much as you want since there are so many slots open.... I'll try to pick the ones I know for sure I can/will write & add them to the table. Prompts aren't required. (Or preferably use a prompt from one of my tables I need to write for! :P ) Drabbles will at least be 100 words, maybe more depending on the plot bunnies.
I rarely write dark fics, smut, or super angsty stuff, so if you prefer that, I might not be able to do it? If you have any Do Not Wants, let me know otherwise it'll be whatever my brain can think up.

A Scence Fiction Anthology for Today's Youth?
Feb. 6th, 2026 03:56 pmelfLong discussion, many comments, mostly agreeing that yep, the way to get people into SF is anthologies, not novels, especially "best of" anthologies rather than whatever theme-of-the-day was popular. Also many people agreeing that many of "the classics" do not hold up today, and "Heinlein juveniles + the Foundation trilogy" is not a good suggestion for a young teen who might be interested in scifi now.
So... if you were building an anthology of The Great Science Fiction, with a focus specifically on non-SF readers who might be interested, what would you put in it?

SPY×FAMILY is one of those manga that's been to my to-read list for long enough that it got adapted into an anime and I still haven't gotten around to reading it 😂 But I decided to finally start watching the anime in November because I went to buy milk tea from Serenitea and I saw that they had SPY×FAMILY reusable bags for sale and who am I to ignore a sign from the universe?
The series starts by introducing us to Twilight, a highly competent super spy who is assigned to work on Operation Strix. The goal of Operation Strix is to prevent a war breaking out between Westalis, Twilight's home country, and Ostania, where he's currently located. To do that, Twilight must get close to politician Donovan Desmond. And to do that Twilight must ... create a pretend family and have his pretend-kid enroll in the same prestigious school as Desmond's son. It's a premise that's ripe for shenanigans! And spy shenanigans were had. But also, family and friends fluff, and a sprinkle of serious contemplation.
You'd think the shenanigans, fluff, and seriousness would be too much, but I think SPY×FAMILY is able to balance it all nicely. I think my only nitpick so far is that I wish the serious Operation Strix subplot would move a bit faster.
Random stuff:
- Me, seeing Damian for the first time: Ah, the rare male tsundere.
Don't quote me on this, I don't actually know the gender ratio for tsundere characters. - I am extremely fond of Bill Watkins, the 6-year-old that might actually be 30. At first I was, "Is no one concerned that this child eats steroids for breakfast?" and then I saw how cute(??) he was with his dad 😭 (who might be M. Bison???)
- Yor during the Luxury Cruise Ship Arc! I'm so happy they gave my girl her time to shine. Wishing for more of Yor absolutely annihilating her enemies and anyone else who stands in her way.
- The reactors I follow for SPY×FAMILY are not fans of Yuri 😂 They seem to take his siscon weirdness at face value which ... I don't think Yuri legit wants to marry Yor. (Though I also wouldn't be surprised if there are Yuri/Yor shippers. More power to them, it's not my ship but I respect it, etc.)
- If Yor didn't exist, I would ship Twilight/Nightfall so hard. I legit teared up at the end of the episode where they introduced her and she was crying in the rain. I hope you find your own husbando, Nightfall!!
