I noticed in the friending meme that Batgirl popped up in a few of the favourites lists, and rather than comment in everyone's lists ...

What does everyone think of the current incarnation of Batgirl?  I'm just getting back in and have followed the current Batgirl since issue #1 and am really loving it.  I love that who has taken the mantle and how it's handled.  I love Proxy, I love Barbara/Oracle mentoring them both.  I love it all.  It's cute, it's funny, it's great.

I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who's head over heels for it.  lol

You're definitely not the only one! I've just started reading it, myself, and I'm loving the amount of humor thrown in there. And Steph's interactions with Nick Gage never fail to make me giggle. :-D

The "squee" moment is a favorite of mine. *grins* I wasn't sure about Proxy at first, but I really like how she's turned a mentor-student dynamic into a bit more of a team dynamic. I mean, I like the mentoring, but variety is the spice of life. :-)

Yeah, the whole Oracle/Proxy mentoring thing is still there, but Batgirl/Proxy is really coalescing into a real team the more Oracle trusts Proxy and returns to her duties with the Birds of Prey.

You can see the "girls" becoming "women" and forming a team of their own. And it's only 14 issues in. It's still a subtle transformation though, but it's still there. If the writers keep it up, it's going to be a great title, and I can't wait to keep reading!

ETA: I actually LOL'd over the squee moment when I read it. haha I was reading it to my kids when read it the first time, and I had to stop to laugh.

You're definitely not alone in the Batgirl love. The fact that the title is so fun while still kicking ass, makes me happy beyond belief.

I'm really digging all the characterizations in this title.

The action is so totally KICK ASS! It's so exciting and FUN!

And the fact that we get Supergirl AND Batgirl? How much more iconic can you get?! (Love the icon, btw!)

Yay Batgirl! It's so much fun, it's about the only comic I still regularly pick up.

Augh, all of the comments here are making me wish I still had access to a comic book store. I stopped reading Batgirl just as Red Robin arrived back from the Middle East with the assassins behind him, if I remember correctly.

And if someone doesn't mind telling me, who's Proxy? I've never followed Birds of Prey.
