but five lettered pages are up as a preview at Newsarama. There isn't much story to go on yet, but the art is looking rather nice. I'm not sure how I feel about hoodie!Clark.
I like the artwork from a mega perspective but Clark looks unrecognizable to me. Are they...urbanizing him? lol He looks somewhat thuggish, and that hoodie doesn't help. (I feel like these pages should have a bone, thugs and harmony soundtrack, lol) He looks more gotham than metropolis.
Superman:Earth One is an AU series, kinda like All Star Superman, but apparently made to be more "realistic". Whatever that means when your main character is a super powered alien.
It's rather hard to infuse "urban realism" into the Superman mythos. The two don't really suit or have much in the way of a common denominator. I can see modernizing Supes (a la Tony Stark and extremis) but to urbanize him...that's a bit of a stretch.
Haven't read any comics for a while. Guess I'll have to jump back into it and see what's going on. lol Thanks for the interesting fodder.
