I know this is a couple of days after the fact, but I'm still happy and interested in discussion, so I thought it was worth a post.
When the cover and solicit for Green Lantern #57 came out, I was more than a little worried. Carol Ferris, a character I admire, in chains? A male entity/host for an all-female Corps? An entity for love named the Predator?
However!
I am happy to report that the contents of the issue are pretty different than the advertising would suggest.
Oh, Larfleeze. I'm sorry, but that's the first thing that has to be said. He's just really fun comic relief. I loved that the flamingo joke was remembered from the previous issue. \o/
I winced when the Predator took over a stalker. But I loved Carol realizing that it was the hosts that the entity had had (including this one) that had corrupted it, and not the other way around. And I love that she was strong enough to hold up against everyone who doubted this. But most of all? I loved Carol becoming Queen of the Zamarons.
And this page is made of win:

I laughed so hard. I <3 Larfleeze.
My one critical comment for the issue...I really liked all of the art EXCEPT for Hal. Is it just me, or was he really stiff looking in this issue? It was weird, there'd be a single panel and Carol would look totally natural, and Hal would look like his spine had been fused into a rigid line.

I laughed so hard at this. It was such a small moment, but so perfect.
I liked what they did with Carol and I'm kind of interested to see where they'll take it. I liked that she stood her ground even against Hal being sure he knew better. Okay, I admit that I'd love for her new position to come with a wardrobe change as well. :)

*nodding* Hal needs people (who aren't evil) to push back against him. It's dangerous to assume you're always right, and he's got a tendency towards that. I kind of regret that Johns won't be giving him a partner like the other Lanterns have; it'd be interesting to see him trying to work with someone. Well, someone other than any of the current Earth Lanterns. They all defer too much to him, even Guy. But a partner who was more like...well, a non-evil Sinestro would be really interesting.

God, yes. *crosses fingers hopefully*
